Covid vaccination clinics are taking place at Grey Gable Surgery.  You will be sent a text from us with an 'accurx' link for booking (or called if you do not have a mobile number). Please be patient and await your invite.

Flu vaccination eligibility 2021/22:  everyone over 50 years old (on 31/3/2022) and everyone classed as At-risk for influenza

Covid-19 testing

Please remember that if you develop symptoms of Covid-19 you must get a PCR test at a testing centre.  The home kits should only be used if you do not have symptoms.  Please see https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/testing/get-tested-for-coronavirus/ for details.

Access to the surgery and GP appointments

Please do not enter if the surgery you have Covid-19 symptoms, have been told to isolate or are awaiting a test result.  When entering the surgery please wear a mask, sanitise your hands. Do not arrive early for your appointment due to limited space in the waiting room. 

If you have an urgent matter if possible please call before 10am and you will receive a call back from the duty doctor.  By calling before 10am it allows the doctors to manage their workload and for our team to process any medication necessary on the same day.  Thank you.

Face to face appointments with the GPs without a prior telephone call are available however they can no longer be booked online due to untested patients with covid symptoms booking online and arriving at the surgery.  This puts our clinicians and our ability to provide a service to all our patients at risk.

We are trialling a half and half model of telephone and face to face appointments as we appreciate that many patients prefer telephone calls. Additionally we must still control the number of patients in the waiting room in order to protect our vulnerable patients.  This model will be under constant review.

Open Access will unfortunately have to remain as telephone appointments for now.  Please be assured that our GPs are seeing every patient that needs to be seen.

Please be patient while we go through this period of adjustment.  Any abuse of our staff may lead to removal from our surgery and from our registered list. 

Covid vaccination status (passport)

We are unable to issue vaccination status certificates at the practice.  Please see https://www.gov.uk/guidance/demonstrating-your-covid-19-vaccination-status-when-travelling-abroad for further information.

Proof of your vaccination status will be available on the NHSapp. The NHSapp can be downloaded from https://apps.apple.com/gb/app/nhs-app/id1388411277 for iPhone or https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.nhs.online.nhsonline for android.

Alternatively you can call the NHS helpline on 119 (from 17 May) and ask for a letter to be posted to you. This must be at least 5 days after you’ve completed your course of the vaccine, the letter may to take up to 5 days to reach you.

In addition to the practice’s normal opening hours, and additional surgery opening times as stated above, you can also book an appointment to see a local clinician in the evenings or on Saturday and Sunday at locations across South Worcestershire.  GP practices are working together to provide extended access appointments to our patients. This means that your extended access appointment may be with a different GP, nurse or based in a different location or practice than you are used to, and some of these appointments are telephone only.  These appointments are pre-bookable by contacting the surgery during our opening times – when calling please ask for an extended access appointment and our receptionists will help you to find a convenient appointment.
